Social Media Associate

Position Type: Long-term volunteer

Time Commitment: 3-7 hours weekly

Description

• Assist and actively engage in the creation of a an engrossing, impactful, and innovative social media strategy

• Create social media posts and campaigns and follow up with DMs, tags, comments and any other direct communications from audiences in a timely manner

• Expand audience and outreach on social media platforms

• Update posts to include relevant keywords for search engine optimization

• Attend bi-monthly group meetings (primarily online, unless stated otherwise)

• Attend any local events that require social media coverage

Qualifications

• Previous experience (minimum 2 years) with social media engagement and content creation

• Self-motivated, displays leadership, excellent written and verbal communication skills and time management skills

• Knowledge and high interest in climate change and sustainability-related issues at local and global levels

• Works well independently and are comfortable working with a team on an online and remote setting

• Canva, Facebook, Instagram, X and Threads experience

• Photography skills will be an additional asset!

• Individuals with marketing, communications, advertising, or media backgrounds and/or experience are asked to include their portfolio alongside details of experience on their application
